Things to know

Empty Pool

An acid wash requires your swimming pool to be emptied. Re-filling it after the acid wash can take an additional 24+ hours depending on your pool size and will require multiple visits, to start up the pool and balance the chemicals. There is also the option of having your pool filled faster with a water truck for an additional charge.

Toxic Chemicals

Acid is a corrosive – releasing a gas that is toxic to your health. You will not be permitted near the pool or spa area during this process. D&R takes all precautions for safety during an acid wash procedure to ensure safety.

Water Discharging

All water must be discharged at a specified location on your property only. During the acid wash process, the water that is pumped out will be neutralized before discharging the water to your property.

Water & Electric

We will need outside water spigot access with the water turned on. Outside electric outlets are also needed to run any equipment.

Locked Access

For property ease of access – if you will not be home, please provide us with any access keys, codes, or instructions for your specified entrance areas. We will always leave your property in the condition we found it, and secure any entryways.

DIY

Never attempt an acid wash yourself. It must be done by an experienced professional.

Drain Pool

Pump out your swimming pool into a designated discharge area on your property only.

Apply Acid Mixture

We will carefully apply the acid wash solution to the surface of your swimming pool.

The Cleaning

Your gunite pool or spa is power washed following the acid wash to rid any remaining debris. The acid solution is neutralized, and then pumped out safely to a discharge location on your property only.

Re-Fill And Start Up

Re-fill your swimming pool or spa and get the equipment running again. Re-filling can take an additional 24+ hours depending on your pool size and will require multiple visits, to start up the pool and balance the chemicals.

Chemical Balancing

Thoroughly balance 7 parameters of your pool’s chemicals to APSP and ANSI standards for a week of maintenance. We are experienced in various size pools and can calculate the gallons and chemical requirements for all pools.
