Things to know
Pool Clean Up Process
Initial Pool Inspection
We inspect your swimming pool’s water, equipment and plumbing condition to search for any visible repairs that might be needed. D&R will give you an estimate based on what is presented at the time, however – there can be unforeseen repairs that are needed if the pool hasn’t been opened in a long time, or not maintained properly.
Empty or Treat?
Depending on the nature of the water’s condition, if the pool can be emptied or not, we will choose the route to go. Some pools can be drained partially and refilled to dilute the concentrations of algae and debris. Other pools can be emptied fully, cleaned, and re-filled.
Bagnet Leaves And Sticks
Remove and bagnet most leaves and sticks out of the pool before treating the water. Doing this allows the chemicals to clarify at their maximum potential.
Water Clarification
If necessary, we bring our own remote pump and filter system to be placed pool side on your patio. This will speed up the water clarification process in addition to treating, and balancing the water.
Power Vacuum
Once we can begin to see the bottom, we will power vac your swimming pool to remove heavy debris that is contributing to the problem. This water gets discharged out of the pool into a safe draining location. In addition, it allows us to add fresh water to replace the loss of water during power vacuuming.
Continuing Clean Up
After the first power vacuum, we continue to clear the water until the water is visibly clear. We will power vacuum it a second time, and in some cases a third power vacuum is necessary. The walls will also be brushed after vacuuming causing debris to release in the water. The pool will still need to be filtered and running 24 hours.
Chemical Balancing
Thoroughly balance and maintain 7 parameters of your pool’s chemicals to APSP and ANSI standards for a week of maintenance. Just because the swimming pool is clear, does not mean it is ready to swim. The chlorine can still be at dangerous levels – we will advise a safe swim date following your pool clean up.
